Community Landscaping Program
We welcome volunteers every Wednesday from 9 am to 12 pm to help our Community Landscaping Team transform Baltimore City vacant lots into community parks and green spaces. Volunteer activities depend on the design of each location and time of year. They often include planting, mulching, weeding, digging pathways, clearing trash and debris, etc.

We celebrate September 11th by bringing volunteers and AmeriCorps members together to improve outdoor spaces.

We bring together more than 200 volunteers on the first Saturday of October to complete projects in communities across Baltimore and honor Ricky Myers, a former Civic Works staff member who devoted his life to service.
Projects include community clean-ups, improving outdoor spaces, and helping nonprofit organizations like The Loading Dock, Second Chance and ShareBaby organize donated supplies.
We celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. through service and by working toward a more just and equitable society, where everyone is valued and respected, regardless of their race, ability, religion, or background. Civic Works brings together more than 200 volunteers on MLK Day every January to improve indoor and outdoor spaces in Baltimore.
