Join YouthBuild, a program for youth and young adults ages 17 – 24, to complete your GED while exploring a career in construction and gaining work experience.
You will receive classroom-based academic instruction and leadership development training, which complement on-the-job skills gained through paid job training in the construction of housing for local, low-income families. After graduation, you will be prepared to enroll in postsecondary education, find full-time employment, or deepen your job training by entering another Center for Sustainable Careers program.
Each year, YouthBuild helps 30 young adults fast-track their education and employment goals.

YouthBuild is a national model. Civic Works’ YouthBuild program is supported by two U.S. Department of Labor grants. Under the 2020 grant, a total of $1,099,999, or 80% of the program is financed with federal funds, and $275,000, or 20% is funded by other sources. Under the 2022 grant, a total of $1,472,000, or 80% of the program is financed with federal funds, and $368,000.00, or 20% is funded by other sources.
