About the Career Training Opportunity

Launch your utility infrastructure career with Civic Works and the BGE Workforce Collaborative! You will receive industry-recognized construction safety certifications and obtain the skills necessary to succeed in this industry. You will work with companies in the region that perform natural gas line repair and replacement, underground utility work, utility locating services, tree care, and general construction.

As a participant, your training will consist of classroom instruction and hands-on learning. A stipend will be paid to participants who meet expectations of attendance, punctuality, commitment and responsibility. Program participants who successfully complete the program requirements have the opportunity to interview for full-time positions with BGE contractors and other industry partners. In the first year, approximately 90% of program graduates received job offers as a result of participating in the program!

After completing the above application, applicants will be contacted by a Civic Works staff member to schedule a phone interview to determine your eligibility for the training program.

For questions about our program or application process, please contact Civic Works’ Center for Sustainable Careers at 410-929-6356.
